A Failed Experiment

Re: A Failed Experiment
The moonlight pooled out into the clearing, illuminating the rocky clearing with a rusty hue. The light refracted off the white and gray crystals scattered haphazardly about, but never in the silent creek, its magma ‘frozen over’ in a sense, as it had hardened as the cool night took over. Iron and copper crunched underfoot as a tall, proudly standing, four-legged figure walked over to the gorge, looking down into its depths, their blue eyes glowing faintly of their own accord.
The creature’s sleek, nearly black scales moved up and down as they breathed, allowing air to vent through its body. Its long tail wrapped around their legs, careful not to scrape against its scales with the diamond-encased shard tips, in fear of chipping them. It took a lot of heat to mold these spikes of gray crystal, it would have been such a waste to harm them, and have to remold them.
With a stretch, she opened her grand, feathered wings, their light gray hue almost a peach color as the light hit them. After a running start, its feet just barely at the edge of the rocky cliff before it took off to the skies, only needing a few strong flaps of its wings to keep itself aloft.
Sweeping its vision across the forest of stone, its piercing gaze analyzing the ground beneath it, eyes finally landing on a small creature. A nightdweller, it had a thick coat of fur and strong claws to dig itself into stone to hide from the sweltering sun during the morn. Not only were these claws good for digging, however, but they were also powerful enough to deal deadly blows to most of its predators.
Carefully, the dark dragon descended, landing silently. Beginning to stalk the pelted creature, its tail snaked out behind it, just above the ground. Within a length of it, it leaped, pebbles skidding out from beneath its pads. Baring its teeth, it dug its three-clawed feet into the back of its pelt, snapping its neck with their maw just as the creature let out a screech, ruining any more chances of getting more prey.
Either way, this would be enough. Grabbing it between their jaws, the draconic creature took to the skies with a spectacular leap, wings whipping out as it turned. It began to fly into the direction of a cave, toothed with diamond spikes and jade outcroppings. With a huff, the dragon landed just in front of the mouth of the cave, walking in lazily, the haired creature dangling from its jaws.
A dark gray dragon looked up, with a sharp, but scarred beak pointing up to the other. It blinked, its leathery wings stretching up, revealing a smaller, completely black dragon, eyes closed, gently breathing as it slept.
The beaked dragon gazed lazily at the chitlin, yellow orbs unmoving. As the dead creature was placed beside the it, the child stirred, pinkish-red eyes opened sleepily as it stumbled closer to the carcass, pulling off a limb before laying down to gnaw on the flesh ravenously.
The adults followed suit, tearing off their own bits to eat, hardly making eye contact as they ate. They needn’t commune with each other; they knew the other too well to need to.
After it finished, the tiny dragon yawned, its scales lifting to allow air to circulate into its bloodstream as it laid back down, next to the muzzled dragon, who rested her feathered wing atop it. With a smile, the larger dragon laid down its head, and with a sigh, it closed its eyes, feeling the movement of the other parent dragon as it laid down beside it.
It was peaceful. Nearly perfect.
If only it would last.

The Shadiir are a race of ascended, dragonlike creatures. They are known for their knowledge of the universe around them, along with their planet.
Shaniir was a planet so vast that its suns orbited around it. Its gravitational pull had brought many other solar systems to itself, along with asteroids and other space debris, causing it to have rings of bright suns and stone. It had a fiery orange sky during day cycles, with molten rock lakes and falls almost as common as water is on Earth, whilst during the night, it would quickly freeze over, turning once more to stone, the sky as black as space, many star systems visible to the naked eye. Jade, copper, and rusted irons were common to find on the surface of this planet.
On occasion, it would rain carbon, but with such high atmospheric density (along with the gravity's pull being so strong) it would often harden them into diamonds of colors varying from white to gray, though most were almost completely clear.
The Shadiir lived on this planet for eons beyond count, but there was often chaos. They were like humans, killing each other for stupid little things. Very belittling.
However, a queen soon emerged, drawing the strength of compressed universe on an amulet. Her name- and this name is now used to refer to this universe she used- is Chryanite.
She brought a reign of peace, and ceased the civil wars that wreaked her planet. Under her, the Shadiir prospered in knowledge, strength, and numbers. She needed no king to strengthen her reign.
After her was Kindle. She had a fiery personality, and was known for sparking the fighting spirit the Shadiir were thenforth feared for. She lead them into battle in the front lines, and died saving them from T'jurn who invaded their planet (albeit that T'jurn normally were peaceful).
After her was Maya. Her creativity and intelligence brought much to her people, and their vast collection of knowledge of the universe. She had one flaw, however, and it was the downfall of not just her, but of her entire species.
She fell in love with the Shadiir who became the king, David. But he hungered for power.
She trusted him too much, and she believed he would succeed. She assisted him in the Lucifer Experiment, and soon adapted his mindset of bigotry.
Mischief hardly got 19 minutes of reign. She was too late to save the planet. She was too late to save everyone.
She killed Maya and David, but it was too late. The mindsets of her entire species were already unstable. The planet soon fell into nothingness.
It ceased to exist from all planes of reality.
Once a great planet, never again to be known.
Mischief, along with a few other Shadiir (whom she is yet to find) survived, however, but they lost their physical forms.
They now live as shadows, drifting aimlessly across time, space, and the astral plains.
